Mr. Choi is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ternary Fund Management. He brings three decades of diverse financial expertise to the firm, including twenty years as a hedge fund manager across Asian equity markets.
From 2013 to 2019, Mr. Choi managed the Choi Falcon Asia Fund, an Asian long/short equity strategy at Gordian Capital Singapore. His leadership experience also includes serving as CEO and Fund Manager at Truston Asset Management Singapore (2011–2013) and a six-year tenure as Managing Director at Elmwood Advisors (2005–2011).
Before transitioning to the hedge fund space, Mr. Choi built a solid foundation across investment banking, equity research, venture capital, and investor relations. He served as an M&A banker at Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank (1994–2000), followed by a role as a Senior Equity Analyst at CLSA (2000–2001). He then served as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of eKorea Venture Capital (2001–2003) and subsequently as Head of Investor Relations at KB Financial Group (2003–2005). Earlier in his career, Mr. Choi served as a Lieutenant in the Republic of Korea Air Force at the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Mr. Choi earned a B.A. in Economics from SUNY Stony Brook (1988) and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University (1991).
